Spain win their second FIFA World Cup title by defeating defending champions Argentina 1–0 after extra time in the 2026 final at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey. Captain Rodri receives the Golden Ball, highlighting Spain’s control and leadership throughout the tournament. The victory makes Spain the first country to hold both the men’s and women’s World Cups, after the women’s team won in 2023. Spain also extend their unbeaten run to 38 matches, field two teenagers in the final, and see Luis de la Fuente become the oldest World Cup-winning manager.
