Kenya Wildlife Service confirms that 15 elephants found dead near Amboseli National Park die from cyanide poisoning. The carcasses are discovered in the Kimana Sanctuary and Kuku Group Ranch corridor, a key wildlife route in southern Kenya. Investigators say the elephants likely eat unripe tomatoes sprayed with cyanide-based agrochemicals on nearby farms. Several animals show paralysis before dying, while others collapse near water sources. KWS warns livestock and other wildlife may also be at risk, as officials investigate whether the poisoning is accidental misuse or deliberate retaliation over crop-raiding.
