Google signs a $30 billion deal with SpaceX to lease computing power, paying about $920 million per month until June 2029. The agreement follows SpaceX’s February 2026 acquisition of xAI, which gives the company access to major US data centres, including its large “Colossus” infrastructure. The deal marks a reversal from earlier years, when Google supplied computing support to SpaceX’s Starlink operations. It also comes just before SpaceX’s planned IPO and follows a similar computing arrangement with Anthropic in May.
