UNDP estimates direct physical damage at about $6.7 billion, equal to roughly 6% of the country’s GDP. More than 6 million people are affected, including residents of Caracas and Catia La Mar. International aid expands as 24 countries send rescue teams, canine units, and emergency support. The EU pledges €5 million, while local volunteers continue digging through rubble amid aftershocks and equipment delays.
