Canada and the United States sharply escalate their trade war after failed negotiations, with Canada imposing retaliatory tariffs on CA$27.6 billion worth of U.S. goods and Washington responding with import bans on selected Canadian alcohol, dairy, and motorcycle products from September 29. The U.S. also moves to exclude Canadian goods from federal procurement channels.
