The World Robotics 2026 Report states that more than 5 million industrial robots are now operating in factories worldwide, as AI adoption and manufacturing reshoring accelerate automation. Annual installations rise 11% to a record 603,000 units. China dominates with 354,000 installations, representing 59% of global deployments, while domestic Chinese manufacturers capture 55% of their home market. The United States moves into second place ahead of Japan, while India records 15% growth to 10,500 installations. General industry now accounts for 53% of robot demand, overtaking automotive manufacturing.
