Flydubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv makes an emergency diversion after the Omani co-pilot allegedly stabs Indian captain Smit Machchhar and attempts to crash the Boeing 737 MAX 8 over Saudi airspace which was foiled by Smit Machchhar . The aircraft rapidly loses altitude before the injured captain opens the cockpit door, allowing passengers and crew to overpower and restrain the co-pilot. Two off-duty pilots on board take control and safely land the plane at Tabuk Airport. All 174 passengers survive, while Flydubai suspends UAE-Israel flights pending investigation.
