The Indian Coast Guard dispatches four ships to rescue crew from the burning Singapore-flagged container vessel Wan Hai 503, which catches fire 144 km off Kerala’s coast after an onboard explosion. Meanwhile, the Israeli Navy intercepts the UK-flagged Madleen, flagship of the June 2025 Gaza Freedom Flotilla, and brings its passengers to Israel. The vessel’s humanitarian aid, initially headed for Gaza, is still approved for delivery into the region.
